Action Plan for Boosting Exports in ASEAN

Dear Members,

We have  received  communication from Shri Rajneesh, Joint Secretary, FT(ASEAN), Department of Commerce, GoI   regarding Action Plan for Boosting Exports in ASEAN.

We understand that Department of Commerce  has analysed ASEAN’s appetite for imports and have culled out high value tariff lines on which ASEAN imports globally and we have export capacity but our market penetration is low. Further,  they  have also culled out high value tariff lines for ASEAN, where we seem to have domestic manufacturing constraints. Both these tables are attached with this circular.

EPC’s have been asked to  provide following information:

a) Prepare a list of major exporting houses/exporters on the identified lines where we can push exports immediately and share this list with FT(ASEAN).

b) Provide tariff line wise Action Plan for boosting exports along with actionable points. In case additional tariff lines on which exports can be pushed, same can also be included.

c) Provide likely monthly export values in USD, tariff-line wise, beginning September 2018-March 2019.

d) Suggest any other measure where intervention of FT(ASEAN) may be required to boost exports.

The information on above mentioned points  is supposed to be sent to ministry at the earliest.

Members are requested to expeditiously revert with the information on our e-mail id’s  -ed@chemexcil.gov.inadreach@chemexcil.gov.in, deepak.gupta@chemexcil.gov.in & rodelhi@chemexcil.gov.in .

Your timely replies on the ASEAN Action Plan will  be appreciated and enable us submit the information to the  ministry for  consideration.

Thanking you,

Yours faithfully,

(S.G BHARADI)
