We have received communication from the Additional DGFT, O/o Directorate General of Foreign Trade, New Delhi regarding boosting exports to USA and China.
We understand that Department of Commerce has analyzed the tariff lists of US and China for items where import duty increase has officially been announced by each country against another.
As a result of the analysis, certain tariff lines have been shortlisted where potential of exports is there to US and China as market access already exists. FT (NEA), Department of Commerce has forwarded the list of top 5 exporters for each such identified tariff line for export to US and China.
Further, we understand from the DGFT letter that the Hon'ble Commerce and Industry Minister has directed that DGFT officers should be nominated and allocated these identified tariff lines and made responsible to reach out to exporters, sensitize them and facilitate exports in the respective tariff lines to US and China so as to capture the market vacated by the US in China and China in US due to ongoing trade war. The Additional DGFT's in CLA, New Delhi, Ludhiana, Mumbai, Ahmadabad, Kolkata, Chennai, Hyderabad, and Bangalore are hereby nominated for this purpose to reach out to exporters falling under their jurisdiction.
The list of top 5 exporters under the identified tariff lines for US and China is enclosed for your reference and comments. The Additional DGFT's may involve other RA's or officers under their jurisdiction, as desired and reach out to exporters falling under their jurisdiction for the identified tariff lines both for US and China markets.
All the EPC's have also been sensitized by the Department of Commerce to maximize the reach to these exporters.
As the progress is likely to be monitored by the CIM office, we kindly request the concerned exporters to kindly let us know their suggestions/ comprehensive plan for the identified tariff lines latest by 16/07/2019 on e-mail id: ed@chemexcil.gov.in, deepak.gupta@chemexcil.gov.in & rodelhi@chemexcil.gov.in .
