Imp- Seminar on "Handling of Dangerous Goods (Chemicals) Transportation by Sea and
Road” on 27th May 2016 at Hotel Marine Plaza, Mumbai.

Dear Members,
This is in continuation of our circular dated 2 nd May 2016 regarding one day seminar on "Handling Dangerous Goods by Sea (IMDG Code)" on 27 th May 2016 in Mumbai.
At the outset, we thank the participants who have already confirmed their participation. With this communication, we would like to confirm the venue and also encourage more companies to participate in the seminar and benefit from the same.
The objective of this seminar is to create awareness among all concerned in the risks involved and detailed understanding of the IMDG Code which is meant for safe carriage of dangerous goods while facilitating the free unrestricted movement of such goods and preventing pollution to the environment.
The Key Speaker for the seminar would be Mr. Shashi Kallada (Specialist- Dangerous Goods), Ex-Manager Global -Dangerous Goods (Maersk Line) who has decades of experience in Merchant Shipping, Packaged Dangerous Goods etc. He has in-depth knowledge of the subject and shall cover following aspects:
1. Classification ( Assignment of Proper Shipping Name (Technical Name) Packing Group)
2. Packaging
3. Marking, Labelling of Packages
4. Marking Placarding of Containers and Tanks
5. Segregation of Dangerous Goods
6. Documentation
7. Common non- compliance noticed on Indian export shipments.
8. The participants will be encouraged to ask questions during Q & A to get solutions for their pertinent issues in export shipments.
Further, Senior officers from IIP/ Shipping etc may also be present during the seminar and shall interact with the participants.
