Clarification on Withdrawal of India’s GSP benefits by USA w.e.f 5th June 2019

Dear Members,
This is in continuation of our circular dated 03/06/2019 informing you about a Press Release issued by Ministry of Commerce & Industry dated 06.01.2019 regarding “WITHDRAWAL OF INDIA’S GSP BENEFITS BY USA”.
As per press release on PIB, the United States of America (USA) has w.e.f. 5 June 2019 withdrawn India’s GSP benefits.
In our above circular of 03/06/2019, we had also enclosed a list of chemical items which were covered under US GSP program. This list was provided by NAFTA Division, DoC and just for information of exporters.
Subsequently, council has been getting queries from the exporters that there tariff line is not in the said list, so that means they are still eligible for US GSP.
In view of above, we request you to ignore the list provided earlier and go by the DOC press release Withdrawal of India’s GSP benefits by USA whereby United States of America (USA) has w.e.f. 5 June 2019 withdrawn India’s GSP benefits.
