India-Korea CEPA up-gradation Stakeholder meeting on 22.01.2019
|
|
Dear Members,
This is in continuation of our recent circulars regarding the ongoing negotiations for upgrading India-Korea CEPA.
We have now received communication from the Under Secretary, FT (NEA) Division, Department of Commerce informing us that the Indian side has to provide a limited priority request list for tariff concessions to Korea as next step in negotiations.
Based on available trade statistics, total of 59 tariff lines have been identified by DoC in which there is potential to increase exports to Korea if tariff concessions are available to Indian exporters (list attached).
It has been decided to hold stakeholder consultations on these lines to assess the true export potential and finalise the priority request list of India. The meeting will be held on 22/01/2019 at Udyog Bhawan New Delhi and will be chaired by Shri Sanjay Chadha, Additional Secretary, Department of Commerce.
Therefore, members are requested to kindly go through the list and revert with Comments on the tariff lines of interest along-with details of domestic production, exportable surplus, potential for increasing production etc .
Your timely comments will be appreciated and be sent to the council latest by 18/01/2019 on e-mail id’s:- ed@chemexcil.gov.in, deepak.gupta@chemexcil.gov.in & rodelhi@chemexcil.gov.in so that the same could be put forth to the ministry for deliberations during the said meeting.
Thanking You,
Yours faithfully,
(S. G. Bharadi)
