Forwarding of samples for testing to the Outside Laboratories

Dear Members,
This is in continuation of our circular dated 01/03/2019 informing you about JNCH, (NS-V) Public Notice No. 20/2019 dated 27/02/2019 regarding “Forwarding of samples for testing to the Outside Laboratories”. As a temporary measure, specified items were allowed to be facilitated for testing to outside laboratories for two months from date of PN.
In this regard, the O/o Commissioner of Customs (NS-V), JNCH has now issued Public Notice no. 38/2019 dated 30/04/2019 regarding “Forwarding of samples for testing to the Outside Laboratories”.
We understand that due to pendency of samples for testing, as a temporary measure, an extension of two months w.e.f . 27/04/2019 is given for testing the sample in outside laboratories as mentioned below:

Further, as per PN, the importer/owner, of the goods has to bear the cost of testing for the above notified Lab.
Members having such cases are requested to take note and inform their CHAs for further action in this matter. The said PN is available for reference using below link-
