Policy brief on TBT notification by EU notifying application of certain
registration and data sharing provisions of regulation on REACH-reg

Dear Members,
We have received communication from the Department of Chemicals and Petrochemicals, Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilizers regarding captioned topic.
In this regards, please find enclosed herewith a policy brief prepared by Department of Commerce presenting analysis of notification made by Member States to WTO under SPS/TBT Agreements.
The key message of this proposed draft regulation is that the phase-in substances which were pre-registered under EU REACH but not registered, those pre-registrations shall no longer be valid after 31 December 2019 and inquiry is required to register substances under REACH.
Therefore 31.12.2019 is the last day when pre-registrations can still be used for registration without need of an inquiry.
Members are requested to take a note of it.
