Suggestions on creation of new HS codes for “Others” category of Chemical Products
|

Dear Members,
This is in continuation of our circular dated 17th May 2022 inviting suggestions on creation of new HS codes for “Others” category of Chemical Products. Unfortunately, council has received very few responses till date.
Kindly note that the suggestions on such HS codes for Others Category were sought during our meeting with the Secretary (Chemicals & Petrochemicals) and other Senior Officers in DCPC. During the discussion it was deliberated that there is a need to create new HS codes for other category of Chemical Products in order to have correct duty classification.
As you are aware, that HS codes also called the Harmonized System (HS) Classification is an international customs classification system which allocates a unique 6-digit HS code to each group of products. Each country can modify by adding two digits or four digits as per their requirements without changing first six digits. In other words, first six digits of HS code (HTS code) are same in all countries.
We once again urge the members to revert with suggestions for creation of new HS Codes for others category of their product group as per below format on our e-mail ids:- dg@chemexcil.in, pw@chemexcil.in, robengaluru@chemexcil.in and rd.ahd@chemexcil.in by 30th May-2022.
