Chemexcil Trade delegation (Buyers- Sellers- Meet –BSM)

 

for  Malaysia and Singapore

 

on 21st  Feb, 2017 and 23rd  Feb 2017 respectively.

 

 


Dear Members,

 

This is in continuation of our circular dated 19th Dec 2016 informing you about the Chemexcil’s Trade Delegation (BSM) to Malaysia and Singapore on 21st Feb & 23rd Feb 2017 respectively.  The venue for the events have been finalized and details of which are provided in this circular. We thank the participants for the support and interest shown till date. 

 

 As an export promotion measure, the Council is organizing “Buyers-Sellers-Meets” in Malaysia and Singapore on 21st Feb, 2017 and 23rd Feb 2017 respectively for promotion of products coming under the purview of Chemexcil viz. Dyes & Dye Intermediates, Inorganic Chemicals including Agrochemicals/Pesticides & Cosmetics & Toiletries. The said project is sanctioned under MDA scheme.

 

An Overview of ASEAN Market :

ASEAN region is a very important destination for Indian exporters and assumes tremendous significance in view of upcoming RCEP FTA.   

 

India and Singapore have signed the Comprehensive Economic Cooperation Agreement (CECA) in order to increase trade, investments and economic cooperation, and expanded bilateral cooperation. As far as chemexcil exports to Singapore are concerned, the exports of items covered under the purview of the Council viz. Dyes & Dye Intermediates, Inorganic, Organic & Agro chemicals, Cosmetics, Toiletries and Essential oils, Castor oil to Singapore is USD 294 million in 2015-16. Major items of India’s exports to Singapore include Major items include, Basic chemicals (including Agrochemicals), Dye stuffs and cosmetics etc.. 

 

The Malaysian economy is the third-largest in Southeast Asia (after Indonesia and Thailand) and 35th in the world. The chemicals industry is a major contributor to the Malaysian economy, with petrochemicals and oleochemicals being  the primary products of this sector. The exports from India to Malaysia of items covered under the purview of the Council viz. Dyes & Dye Intermediates, Inorganic, Organic & Agro chemicals, Cosmetics, Toiletries and Essential oils, Castor oil is USD 255 million in 2015-16. Major items include, Basic chemicals (including Agrochemicals), castor oils, Dye Stuffs and cosmetics etc. Malaysia has emerged as India’s second largest trading partner in the ASEAN after Singapore.  With Malaysia-India Comprehensive Economic Cooperation Agreement (CECA) in place, economic and commercial relations are expected to further increase.

 

Objective:

The objective of this Trade Delegation is

  • To provide value-added business networking through one-to-one meetings with companies and Trade & Investment Promotion Organizations in these countries
  • To explore the possibilities of joint ventures.

Charges :    The participation fees for the above delegation would be as under

  • Buyer Seller Meet - Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia:-  Rs.20,000/-
  • Buyer Seller Meet - Singapore :-  Rs.20,000/-

 

Admissibility of Marketing Development Assistance (MDA)

 

Please note that the participants are eligible to get MDA towards the Air Fare to the tune of  Rs.70, 000/- or actual whichever is less.

 

  • The Firm should be a Member of the Council at least for a period of 12 Months

 

  • Export performance of the Firm in immediate preceding year should not be more than Rs. 30 Crores.  Even if there are no exports, the participants are eligible for MDA.
  • The Firm should submit their export returns regularly to the Council

 

 

Please note that the firm can avail only one MDA at time in a financial year, under the One Focus Area.



The firm should also register their tour 14 days in advance from the date of departure by submitting their MDA application, where the date of receipt of application by the council and the date of departure would not be considered for counting 14 days.  Format of MDA application form is attached herewith for doing the needful.

 

 

Terms of Payment

  • 100% by DD / Cheque or RTGS (Allotment of stall will be strictly based on receipt of payment)

 

  • DD / Cheque must be drawn in favour of “CHEMEXCIL A/C NO.10996680725 “and the same should be sent to Chemexcil, Mumbai office.
