Dear Members,
We are pleased to inform you that in continuation of our capacity building initiatives, Council is now organising a one day seminar on "Handling of Dangerous Goods (Chemicals) Transportation by Sea and Road” on 16th Septmeber 2016 at Hotel Fortune Park, Plot No. Z/4/3, SEZ Part-1, Dahej, Taluka :Vagra, District : Bharuch.
You will appreciate that Dangerous Goods are those goods which by their inherent nature can cause harm to humans, animals, property or environment. The Carriage of dangerous goods and marine pollutants in packaged form by sea is regulated in order to reasonably prevent injury to persons or damage to ships and their cargoes and to prevent harm to the marine environment. The objective of the IMDG Code is to enhance the safe carriage of dangerous goods while facilitating the free unrestricted movement of such goods and prevent pollution to the environment.
The objective of this seminar is to create awareness among all concerned in the risks involved and detailed understanding of the IMDG Code which is meant for safe carriage of dangerous goods while facilitating the free unrestricted movement of such goods and preventing pollution to the environment
The Key Speaker for the seminar would be Mr. Shashi Kallada (Specialist- Dangerous Goods), Ex-Manager Global -Dangerous Goods (Maersk Line) who has decades of experience in Merchant Shipping, Packaged Dangerous Goods etc. He has in-depth knowledge of the subject and shall cover following aspects:

Marking, Labelling of Packages

Marking Placarding of Containers and Tanks

Segregation of Dangerous Goods

Documentation.

Common non- compliance noticed on Indian export shipments.

The participants will be encouraged to ask questions during Q to A get Solutions for their pertinent issues in export shipments.
Further, guestspeakers from Indian Institute of Packaging (IIP) may also be present during the seminar and shall interact with the participants.
