As you know that a the bilateral trade and investment relationship between India and the UK was achieved on 4th May 2021 with the announcement of the India-UK Enhanced Trade Partnership [ETP] by the Prime Ministers of both the countries.
There are discussions going on Free Trade Agreement [FTA] between India and UK. This would allow us to explore the opportunities in trade and investment by making exports easier and promoting investment flows in both the countries.
During these interactions, it was suggested that a Questionnaire would be circulated to stakeholders for seeking their inputs w.r.t. different products covered under various chapters.
Accordingly, enclosed herewith a questionnaire in excel format seeking your views on different aspects of the Trade in chemicals. There are 3-sheets in excel which are as under
- India Export Offensive Interest:- Exporter need to give statistical as well as other inputs with regards to their HS codes of exports in UK
- India Import offensive Interest:- Importers need to give statistical as well as other inputs with regards to their HS codes of imports from UK
- India Import Defensive Interest:- Exporter and importers need to give statistical as well as other inputs with regards to their HS codes of trade with UK
In addition to this members can also highlight issues on following points.
- Inverted duty structure in detail.
- Issues relating to Customs valuation and other customs procedure in UK Market.
- Availability of raw materials / consumer goods
- Ways to Increase market access in UK
- Anything else that you would suggest about India's future trade relationship with the UK as per as your products are concerned.
