|

|
Dear Members,
Council has received communication from Under Secretary, FT (NEA) Division, Ministry of Commerce, New Delhi that negotiations for upgrading India-Korea CEPA are in progress. Ministry of Commerce has identified tariff lines where India has not been able to utilise tariff concessions under CECA. Following two lists of such tariff lines are attached herewith :-
-
HS Lines with duty benefits but negligible exports from India
-
HS Lines having preferential exports less than 80% of total exports to Korea
The list of items coming under the purview of the Council is attached herewith . Members are requested to analyse the tariff lines and provide the reasons (line by line) as to why India is not able to make full utilisations of tariff concessions available under India-CECA , whether members are facing any problems like Rules of Origin Issues, Certifications problems, SPS/TBT issues which if identified can be taken up with the Korean side during the ongoing negotiations.
Members are requested to kindly send issues/points at the earliest (by 24th Feb 2017) on our email id’s Deepak.gupta@chemexcil.gov.in and balani.lic@chemexcil.gov.in.
Your timely responses will be appreciated.
Thanking You,
Yours faithfully,
( S.G. BHARADI )
