This is in continuation of our mailer dated 11/09/2017 informing you about revised deadlines for July 2017 Returns Filing.
As per last extension, the government has extended the dates for filing of July returns for GSTR1/GSTR2/GSTR3 to 10th Oct., 31st Oct., and 10th Nov., 2017 respectively.
We would like to remind the members, that the last date for filing GSTR-1 for the month of July, 2017 is 10th October, 2017.
In this regard CBEC has issued press release dated 09/10/2017 wherein it is clarified that there will be no further extension given to taxpayers for filing their GSTR-1 return for July 2017.Taxpayers who have not yet filed their GSTR-1 for July are advised to do so immediately.
Kindly note that once a taxpayer files GSTR-1 by 10th October, the corresponding entries in GSTR-2A of his buyer shall get auto populated. The buyer shall finalize his GSTR-2 after making modifications (additions, corrections or deletions), if required, in GSTR-2A. The Input Tax Credit (ITC) shall be availed by the buyer based on his GSTR-2. If a taxpayer does not file GSTR-1 by 10th of October, then his buyer may face difficulty in availing ITC of the tax paid on his supplies.
Further, from IGST refunds point of view also, we understand that for exporters the details of zero rated supplies declared in Table 6A of return in Form GSTR-1 are matched electronically with the corresponding details available in Customs Systems as per details provided in shipping bills/ bill of export. Thus exporters must file their GSTR-1 very carefully to ensure that all relevant details match. For their convenience, the details available in the Customs System have been made available for viewing in their ICEGATE login.
Members are requested to kindly take note of above. Those who have not filed their GSTR-1 for month of July 2017 are advised to do so immediately. The CBEC press release titled “No extension of last date for filing GSTR-1 for July, 2017” is available on below link-
