Dear Members,

As informed earlier,  regular consultation meetings are being  held in Department of Commerce (DoC), New Delhi  to formulate the strategy  for boosting exports to USA, China,  ASEAN and  other regions, to understand the impediments and support required.

During the recent  meeting on 19/09/2018 at DOC,   the   FT-ASEAN Division, DoC  has provided a   list of  top  chemical items imported  in ASEAN.

The list reflects  the Importing countries,  ASEAN’s Imports from  World,   Import from China/ Kore/ Japan/ import from within ASEAN along-with  Import from India  and also India's export of same item to world.  The above-said  list is attached herewith for your reference.

Members are requested to  kindly go through the list and provide us following information:

Ø Comments on  top chemical items imported in ASEAN as per the  list.

Ø In cases where India’s  share in ASEAN import  is low specially  vis.a.vis  our exports   of same item to the world,  then possible reasons for  the same.

Ø Impediments faced in your existing products while exporting to ASEAN ( Higher duty vis.a.vis competing countries,  TBT ,  ADD or any other barriers).

Ø In case your item is not in the list, please provide details of other HS codes of  high export potential with some information on export potential and support needed , if any.

Members are kindly requested to revert with their inputs by 25/09/2018 on our e-mail id’s  -ed@chemexcil.gov.in,  deepak.gupta@chemexcil.gov.in & rodelhi@chemexcil.gov.in .     Your timely replies on the ASEAN list be appreciated and enable us submit the information to the  ministry for  consideration.

Finally,  kindly also  note that  very shortly council is also planning to hold stakeholder  consultations with members   on boosting exports to major regions (USA, China, ASEAN etc)  and shall  let  you know the date and venue details.  Your support/ participation  in this regard will also be appreciated.
