Dear Members,

You might be aware that,   “UN TIR Carnet”   facilitates seamless movement of goods by road or multimodal across international borders without any additional checks under the TIR procedure as defined by the United Nations TIR Convention.

TIR stands for “Transports Internationaux Routiers”.    It is the universal customs transit system based on a UN Convention implemented at global level in Public-Private Partnership for moving goods across international borders without any additional checks.  It is overseen by the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE), and managed by the International Road Transport Union (IRU).

India has acceded to the United Nations TIR Convention on 15 June, 2017.

In India,  FICCI has been appointed by the Central Board of Indirect Taxes & Customs (CBIC) as National Issuing & Guaranteeing Association (NIGA) for the operation of TIR system in India.

To create awareness amongst exporters in Chemical Sector about the benefits of UN TIR system., CHEMEXCIL and FICCI are organizing   a  free export awareness  webinar for members.
