Dear Sir’s,

This is regarding Anti-Dumping  Duty on import  of Para-Xylene into Brazil  falling under HS code 2902.43.00  and originating from  India.

The Council has been informed by the  Consul General of India, Sao Paulo (Brazil) that the Chamber of Foreign Trade (CAMEX), Brazil  has  reduced the Anti-Dumping Duty on Para-Xylene  from 4% to  NIL duty.  This exemption has been notified vide CAMEX resolution no. 112 dated  21st Nov. 2014.  

This measure applies for a quota of 80,000 tones and for a period of six months.

Further, we understand that the exemption of ADD has been effected to meet the growing demand of the Brazilian industry, as domestic production of para-xylene is insufficient to supply the domestic market.

Relevant members are requested to take advantage of this development to boost exports to Brazil.
