Under Capacity building initiative, in order to enhance the Exim skills of members Chemexcil along with ICICI bank is organizing knowledge base webinar series on Exim Commercial topics in June 2022.
At present following topics will be covered in a series of 3-webinars viz.
1. Understanding Letter of Credit
2. Understanding FEMA and Regulatory guidelines for Exports
3. Export Finance Guidelines and Facilities
Senior most faculty in the respective field will conduct these webinars.
Letter of Credit:
Since the nature of international trade includes factors such as distance, different laws in each country and the lack of personal contact during international trade, letters of credit make a reliable payment mechanism.
A Letter of Credit (LC) is a document that guarantees the buyer’s payment to the sellers. It is issued by a bank and ensures timely and full payment to the seller. There are various types Letter of Credit and it has its own importance.
FEMA:- Foreign Exchange Management Act
The Central Government of India formulated an act to encourage external payments and across the border trades in India known as the Foreign Exchange Management Act. FEMA (Foreign Exchange Management Act) was introduced in the year 1999 to replace an earlier act FERA (Foreign Exchange Regulation Act).
The primary objective of FEMA act was “facilitating external trade and payments and promoting the orderly development and maintenance of foreign exchange market in India
Export Finance:
Export financing is a cash flow solution for exporters. It facilitates the commerce of goods internationally. It also allows the businesses that sell products to another country to get access to working capital before their clients pay for the products purchased.
