Dear Members,
Are you exporting your products to the UK? Know your obligations.
-
UK REACH has entered into force in the UK from 1st January 2021
-
UK REACH regulates the access of substances to the Great Britain (GB) market – England, Scotland and Wales
-
UK manufacturers/importers need to register chemicals manufactured or imported by them for = 1 tpa
-
UK Health and Safety Executive (HSE) – ‘The Agency’ is the Lead UK regulatory enforcing Authority
-
Registrations need to be submitted to HSE within the designated deadlines
-
Indian (non-GB) manufacturers / formulators / producer of articles can appoint a GB based Only Representative (OR) to fulfill the obligations of the GB-based importers.
-
If substance is already registered under EU REACH then submit Downstream User Import Notification (DUIN).
-
a)A DUIN is not a pre-registration.
-
b)There is no provision for pre-registration under UK REACH
-
c)DUIN must be made within the first 300 days after end of the transition period i.e. before 27th Oct 2021.
-
d)After notification, your registration obligation is deferred for up to 6 years from 28th Oct 2021 depending on the tonnage band and the hazardous properties of the chemical.
-
e)If you miss the deadline then direct registration needs to be done.
-
If substance is not registered under EU REACH and you wish to export chemicals into GB for the first time, then directly New Registration under UK REACH needs to be done.
UK REACH tonnage bands and hazard profiles after DUIN:-
