Dear Sir/Madam

As you are aware that during recent budget announcement the Finance Ministry increased customs duty on lab chemicals from 10% from 150%.

Now the basic customs duty (BCD) on Lab chemicals (excluding undenatured ethyl alcohol of any alcoholic strength) for use in laboratories and for Research & Development purposes has been reduced to 10%.

Ministry of Finance, Dept. of Revenue has issued a Notification No. 41/2024-Customs dated 31st July 2024. The detailed notification in this regard can be viewed on below link
