DGFT-Difficulty in closure of Advance Authorization due to space constraints in the description column of the Shipping Bills: Regarding

Dear Sir/Madam
The office of Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT) has issued a Trade Notice No. 32/2024-25 dated 28th February 2025 on above subject.
Exporters were facing issues where item descriptions exceeding 120 characters were not fully reflected in the Shipping Bills, leading to deficiencies raised by RAs under Para 4.42 (iii) of FTP 2023.
As per this trade Notice, RAs may verify the complete description using self-attested copies of GST system-generated e-invoices for such cases.
Exporters are required to upload the self-attested copies of GST system-generated e-invoices for such cases along with other prescribed documents for Redemption/EODC of Advance Authorisations.
This direction issued by the DGFT is a welcome step for the exporting fraternity who were facing challenges in the closure of AA even though the EO was met. This will lead to clearance of the pendency’s, closure of Bonds and faster processing of the Redemption/EODC applications.
