Dear Members,

We would like to inform you that O/o DGFT New Delhi has issued Public notice No. 6/2015-2020 dated 4 th May 2016   regarding inclusion of “Group C” Countries  for additional  2787 tariff lines,   eventually  dispensing  with the need of submitting proof of landing certificate for claiming benefit under (MEIS).

The Council had received representations from member-exporters  regarding furnishing  of landing certificate which was adding to transaction costs.  We had taken up the issue with DGFT during various interactions.

Taking cognizance of representations from the trade,  O/o DGFT  has expanded reward for 2787 tariff lines by including Group C markets.  Earlier, these 2787 lines required submission of proof of landing as reward was not available for all markets  i.e. Group C countries (like Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Pakistan etc).  Henceforth, Landing Certificate shall not be required under MEIS.
