Policy to keep control on exporters using self-certified system for EU-GSP Registered   Exporter System

As you might be aware,   European Union (EU) had introduced a self-certification scheme for certifying the rules of origin under GSP from 01.01.2017 onwards.  In this regard, DGFT had brought out a Public Notice No. 51 dated 30.12.2016  regarding registration of exporters under EU GSP Registered Exporter System (REX) System and assigning them a REX number enabling them to self-certify the origin of product through Statement of Origin for duty preference under European Union Generalized System of Preferences.

 

In continuation of earlier Trade Notices, O/o Directorate General of Foreign Trade, HQ have now issued  Trade Notice No. 49/2019-20  dated  11th  February, 2019    regarding Policy to keep control on exporters using self-certified system for EU-GSP Registered Exporter System.

 

As per  above said Trade Notice    “All the exporters are requested to submit fortnightly statements in prescribed format on Statement of Origin issued.  They are also requested to respond to the verification requests by EU within the prescribed time limit, failing which the Registered Exporter Number (REX) may be annulled. Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) in this regard are enclosed”

 

Members (exporting to EU)  are requested to take note of this requirement and do the needful.   The above said Trade Notice  with FAQ’s  is available for reference using below links-
