Dear Members,

The council has received  intimation from FT-NAFTA Division, DoC regarding Measures to enhance  India-US bilateral trade in merchandise.

We understand that the  Counsellor(Commerce), Embassy India, Washington, USA   met with the representatives of the National Association of Chemical Distributors (NACD). Established in 1971, NACD is an international association of chemical distributors and their supply-chain partners. It’s nearly 450 member and affiliate companies represent more than 85% of the chemical distribution capacity in the US and 90% of the industry's gross revenue. Member companies process, formulate, blend, re-package, warehouse, transport, and market chemical products for over 750,000 customers. The chemical distribution industry that NACD represents employs over 70,000 people. The NACD is a member of the International Chemical Trade Association (ICTA) which has recently (26 October 2018) signed a MoU with the Indian Chemical Council (ICC) (enclosed).

NACD is willing to meet with a delegation from India or talk to them about the potential of importing chemicals from India.

In this regard,  Chemexcil, has been advised  to carry out discussions with the NACD and also explore  mounting a delegation to the US in case that is found appropriate.  The communication from NAFTA, DOC  is enclosed for reference.

Members are therefore requested to let us know if they are  interested to participate in such a  delegation  so that  we can inform  DoC  and Indian mission (USA)  accordingly.     The council will also submit a proposal for assistance under MAI, but the  same shall be subject to approval from the DoC.

Your confirmations be sent at the earliest on e-mail id’s ed@chemexcil.gov.in, deepak.gupta@chemexcil.gov.in & rodelhi@chemexcil.gov.in  so that we can do the needful.

Thanking You,

Yours faithfully,
