Implementation of NPCI-based Workflow for Bank Account Validation in IEC Applications and Modifications
(DGFT Trade Notice No. 23/2025-26 dated 06.02.2026)
|
Dear Members,
Greetings from CHEMEXCIL!
This is to inform you that the Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT), Department of Commerce, Ministry of Commerce & Industry, Government of India, has issued Trade Notice No. 23/2025-26 dated 06.02.2026 regarding implementation of an NPCI-based workflow for bank account validation in IEC applications and modifications.
The above Trade Notice is issued in reference to the earlier DGFT Public Notice No. 32/2025-26 dated 20.11.2025, wherein DGFT had enabled online, API-based validation of IEC-related details through integration with Government and authenticated databases.
Further strengthening the IEC ecosystem, DGFT has now implemented integration with the National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI) effective February 2026 for real-time validation of bank account details furnished at the time of:
-
IEC issuance
-
IEC modification
This integration aims to ensure authenticity of IEC-linked bank accounts and enable a fully digital, automatic and trusted trade facilitation framework.
Key Highlights:
-
Applicants are required to:
-
Declare all active bank accounts linked with their PAN.
-
Ensure that PAN, name and bank account details correctly match with bank records.
-
Bank account details submitted will be transmitted to NPCI for validation and may receive the following status:
-
Success
-
In Progress
-
Failed
-
Processing of IEC applications/modifications will be based on the NPCI validation status as specified in the Trade Notice.
A copy of the said Trade Notice & Public Notice are available at Annexure.
Members are therefore advised to carefully verify the correctness of their bank account details, PAN linkage and name matching with bank records prior to submission of IEC applications or modification requests to avoid rejection or deficiencies.
In case of any difficulty in submission or updation, members may contact the DGFT Helpdesk.
