India-Peru Trade Agreement
Justification for keeping certain tariff lines under Negative/Sensitive List or MoP to be given
to Peru on other tariff lines

Dear Members,
This is in continuation of our earlier circulars informing you about the on-going negotiations between India- Peru covering trade in goods, services and investment.
We have now received communication from FT-LAC Section, DOC informing us that as on date, 5 (five) rounds have been held so far. The sixth round of negotiations is scheduled to be held in Lima, Peru during 21-23 January, 2020 and both sides are required to exchange their respective offers lists to each other two weeks before the round.
In order to prepare our offer list, an Inter-Ministerial Meeting will be held under the Chairmanship of Shri Shyamal Misra, Joint Secretary on 20th December, 2019 at 3.00 PM in Conference Room No.141, Udyog Bhawan, New Delhi.
During the meeting, council/ Trade bodies have been asked to suggest the MoP (Margin of Preference) to be given to Peru on these lines or if the lines are kept under Negative/Sensitive List, suitable justification for the same.
The revised list of HS codes of Peru's revised wish-list (3700 HS Codes) is attached for your kind perusal.
Members are requested to kindly furnish these inputs, as applicable, at the earliest i.e. by 19/12/2019 on our email ids- ed@chemexcil.gov.in, deepak.gupta@chemexcil.gov.in & rodelhi@chemexcil.gov.in so that we can put forth our comments to FT-LAC for meeting on 20/12/2019.
