Dear Members,
We would like to inform you that recently an “Interaction on UAE Opportunity” was organized under the Chairmanship for Shri Piyush Goyal, Hon’ble Minister of Commerce and Industry, Consumer Affairs & Food & Public Distribution and Textiles on 18th December 2021 in Mumbai, which was attended by the leading export promotion councils and industry associations of India.
During the interaction, the Hon’ble Minister had urged the Industry to take up these opportunities with a view to promoting Indian goods in global markets and had set an aspirational target of bringing in additional USD 10 billion worth of revenues through this initiative.
Pursuant to the directives from the Hon’ble Minister, an Industry Specific session is being organized by DP World on 30 December from 01:30 PM to 02:30 PM through the virtual mode with the following objectives as outlined during the interaction on 18th December:

To discuss opportunities for industry at Jebel Ali, Dubai

To resolve industry / sector specific queries and concerns for establishment of business at Jebel Ali

To provide a non-binding (soft commitment) from the Indian Industry to the Government of India indicating the expected scale and size of operations that Indian Industry would take up in Jebel Ali
The session will be conducted by Senior Leadership from DP World including Mr. Rizwan Soomar, CEO & MD, DP World (Subcontinent) and Mr. Abdulla Al Hashmi, Head of Business Intelligence, DP World.
In this regard, Chemexcil has also been invited to join this virtual session to engage and discuss way forward for achieving these objectives.
We request the members to kindly go through the presentation provided by DP world on this initiative. Please also find enclosed a template for (non-binding) Expression of Interest which needs to be submitted to the Government of India as an outcome of these interactions.
We request the members to kindly submit their individual / cumulative expression of interest which can be submitted by us after the conclusion of the session on 30 December 2021.
