Inputs on India EU BTIA Negotiations

 

 

Dear Sir/ Madam,

 

 

As you are aware, India and EU have been engaged in negotiating a BTIA (Broad-based Trade & Investment Agreement). The process of negotiation which started in 2007 has not been concluded yet. 

 

 

Given the fact that economy has undergone changes since 2007, it will be useful for the Ministry to have views from the industry.  You are therefore, requested to provide the following inputs:-

 

  • Intimate top  tariff lines each on which you have defensive and offensive interests respectively.
  • Tariff lines on which tariff should not be brought down to zero
  • SPS & TBT measures that your products face in EU market, tariff line wise

 

 

 

As Ministry has to share the information  on priority,  Member-exporters are therefore requested to send their inputs at the earliest  (by 17 th December 2015) on our e-mail id’s-  deepak.gupta@chemexcil.gov.in & balani.lic@chemexcil.gov.in .   Your early inputs on the same will enable us forward to the Ministry for  further deliberations.
