Invitation to Seminar on EU Sanctions at Hotel St. Regis, Lower Parel, Mumbai on  19th June 2025

Dear Members,
Greetings from CHEMEXCIL!
We have been informed that the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI) is organizing a Seminar on EU Sanctions in association with the European Union and the International Science and Technology Center (ISTC).
The objective of the seminar is to provide Indian industry stakeholders with a deeper understanding of the EU’s sanctions framework, including its legal framework, scope and sectoral applications. The discussions will cover restrictive measures related to financial sector, trade in dual-use items, and energy, transport and logistics-related restrictive measures.
The discussions will also focus on possible consequences due to breaches and circumvention and provide case studies and guidance on how to detect circumvention.
Experts from the European Commission and other international stakeholders will lead discussions across the following sessions:

  • EU sanctions framework

  • EU restrictive measures related to the financial sector, including asset freezes and prohibition of making available funds or economic resources, banking and financing restrictions

  • EU restrictive measures in export and import of goods, including export controls of dual-use goods and advanced technology products

  • EU restrictive measures related to energy, transport and logistics, including oil, maritime and aviation restrictions

  • EU sanctions breaches and circumvention

  • Trade flows and possible patterns of circumvention

  • Compliance requirement for targeted sectors, supported by case studies
