Launch of FIEO's Ease of Logistics Portal
|
Dear Members,
We have received communication from Dr. Ajay Sahai, DG &CEO, FIEO regarding Launch of their “Ease of Logistics Portal”.
As you are aware, exporters are facing a lot of difficulty due to container shortage and during discussion with the Shipping Lines, it is given to understand this is a global phenomenon and is expected to stabilize from the second quarter of next FY. The shipping lines also desire that exporters should inform their container requirements well in advance enabling them to do better planning of equipment.
To facilitate the process of container demand fulfilment in a systematic manner, FIEO has conceptualized and developed a portal www.easeoflogistics.com to bring service seekers and providers on a single platform without disturbing their prevailing practices.
Exporters shall be able to post their various requirements through this portal and service providers shall be able to view demands; quote; discuss and finalize business with exporters. The system has following features:

Posting of container requirements.

Pan India visibility of your requirements.

Provision to receive multiple quotes to choose from.

Facility to chat and negotiate

Better price discovery and cost optimization

Direct outreach to shipping lines

Networking opportunities
Further, we understand that from service providers segment, FIEO has already received support from Freight Forwarders Association of India (FFFAI) and expecting support of Container Shipping Lines Association & Association of Multi Modal Transport Operators of India (AMTOI) soon.
In this regard, Council has also been requested to extend active co-operation for this trade facilitation initiative for the EXIM community and sensitize members enabling them to on-board this platform for their logistics requirements. There is no subscription fee for exporters initially.
Therefore, in the larger interest of export promotion and considering the existing precarious situation, members are requested to explore/ benefit from this trade facilitation measure by FIEO.
