List of 77 Tariff Lines on which Peru has announced Zero Tariffs
|

Dear Members,
The council has received communication from (FT-LAC) Division, Department of Commerce informing us about subject matter.
We understand that Embassy of India, Peru vide their Commercial Report has informed that Peru has announced zero tariffs on 77 items with tariff lines at 10-digit HS level, as a temporary measure, under the national emergency.
Just for background, Embassy of India, Peru has further informed that "Through Supreme Decree (SD) 003-2022-SA dated 24 January, 2022, the Peruvian Government extended the health emergency for 180 days from 2 March 2022, this extension will end on 28 August 2022. Earlier vide decree published on 13 March, 2020, Government gave a benefit of zero tariff duties to 65 items in order to control the pandemic. SD 051-2020-EF was modified by SD 059-2020-EF on 28 March, 2020 by adding 12 items to the list giving benefit of zero tariff duties. This measure is valid until 29th August 2022.
The said zero tariff items list includes inorganic chemicals, organic chemicals, pharmaceutical products, plastics, rubber, medical and surgical instruments and is enclosed for your ready reference.
Members are requested to take note of this opportunity in Peru and explore enhancing exports.
