MSME Notification regarding Revision in Criteria |

Dear Members,
This has reference to our circular dated 1st June 2020 informing you that Cabinet has approved Upward revision of MSME definition and modalities/ road map for implementing remaining two Packages for MSMEs (a) Rs 20000 crore package for Distressed MSMEs and (b) Rs 50,000 crore equity infusion through Fund of Funds.
In continuation of the same, we draw your attention to the Notification issued by MINISTRY OF MICRO, SMALL AND MEDIUM ENTERPRISES vide S.O. 1702(E) dated 1st June 2020 notifying the revised criteria as following for classification of micro, small and medium enterprises, namely:—
(i) a Micro enterprise, where the investment in Plant and Machinery or Equipment does not exceed one crore rupees and turnover does not exceed five crore rupees;
(ii) a Small enterprise, where the investment in Plant and Machinery or Equipment does not exceed Ten crore rupees and turnover does not exceed fifty crore rupees;
(iii) a Medium enterprise, where the investment in Plant and Machinery or Equipment does not exceed fifty crore rupees and turnover does not exceed two hundred and fifty crore rupees.
This notification shall come into effect from 01.07.2020.
Members are requested to take note of this notification and take it forward accordingly, if applicable.
The said notification vide S.O. 1702(E) dated 1st June 2020 published in gazette is enclosed for your reference.
