Online Seminar on Voluntary Code of Conduct (VCC) for Preventing Diversion of Precursor Chemicals – by Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB), Ahmedabad

Dear Member,

Greetings from CHEMEXCIL!

We are pleased to inform you that CHEMEXCIL, in association with the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB), Ahmedabad Zonal Unit, is organizing an Online Seminar on the Voluntary Code of Conduct (VCC) for Preventing Diversion of Precursor Chemicals.

The Voluntary Code of Conduct (VCC) has been developed and launched by the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB), Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India, with the objective of promoting responsible business practices, strengthening industry self-regulation and fostering closer cooperation between the chemical industry and enforcement agencies.

While the legal framework under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act regulates controlled substances, effective prevention of diversion of precursor chemicals also requires active participation and vigilance from the industry. Manufacturers, exporters, importers, traders and other stakeholders play an important role in ensuring that chemicals meant for legitimate industrial and commercial purposes are not diverted for the illicit manufacture of narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances.

The seminar will provide members with an understanding of the VCC framework, its objectives, the role and responsibilities of industry stakeholders, due diligence and good practices for preventing diversion of precursor chemicals, as well as the importance of cooperation between industry and enforcement agencies.
