We have received  communication dated 30 th November 2015 from O/o The Indirect Tax Ombudsman Mumbai regarding appointment of Indirect tax Ombudsman for Maharashtra & Goa region.

The functions of the ombudsman would be to address  various complaints  related to procedural delays and other issues as listed out in the attached communication.

In addition to the redressal of complaints, the Ombudsman may also identify issues that enhance compliance burden  or create hardships for tax payers and may bring the same to the attention of CBEC and MOF.

Members are requested to take note of the same and also provide inputs on the issues faced related to Indirect Taxation,  which can be subsequently deliberated with the Ombudsman.
