Preparation of India’s Offer List for Peru under Trade in Goods Chapter for negotiations

 

for the India-Peru Trade Agreement- Regarding

 

 

Dear Sir/Madam,



CHEMEXCIL is in receipt of communication from Department of Chemicals & Petrochemicals on proposed India-Peru Trade agreement.

 

As you may be aware, India and Peru are in the process of negotiating a Trade Agreement. Five rounds of negotiations have been held so far, with the last round held in August 2019.
The 6th round of negotiations, which was previously scheduled, was postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Negotiations for the Trade Agreement have now resumed, and a Special Round was conducted on October 10th -11th , 2023.

 

The upcoming 6th round with Peru is planned for the first half of December 2023.

 

A wish list at 8 digit level codes is enclosed for seeking inputs on Margin of Preference (MoP) (the difference in tariff rates)  along with the justification from India.

 

The list of 459 HS Codes falls under Chemexcil is enclosed for your ready reference and inputs, which includes India’s FTA with ASEAN, KOREA, JAPAN, UAE, AU and India’s Trade Data.

Members are requested to provide their feedback on

 

  • Inputs on Margin of Preference (MoP) against each tariff lines with Reasons

  • Whether the tariff line has to be kept under Exclusion/Negative category ?with Reasons.

 

Request to submit above details in enclosed excel format to ad.del@chemexcil.in  with copy at pw@chemexcil.in  on or before 2nd December 2023 for onward submission.
