Dear Sir,

We would like to inform you that The Ministry of Development,  Industry and Trade (MDIC), Government of Brazil has  reduced import duty on Barium Carbonate (H.S 2836.60.00)  from 10 % to 2% w.e.f    11th Dec 2014.     

This  reduction has been notified vide attached  CAMEX Resolution No. 115 published on 10/12/2012 in the Official Gazette (DOU) and will be valid for a period of twelve months for the  quota of 8,250 tons.

Further, we understand that this reduction has  been effected  due to shortages in the domestic market, as the product has many applications in  industries such as ceramics, glasses, crystals, bricks, etc. 

The relevant member-exporters are requested to make use of this  opportunity.
