Seeking Member Inputs for CHEMEXCIL's Overseas Warehousing & Fulfilment Proposal under the FLOW Initiative

Dear Member,

Greetings from CHEMEXCIL!

The Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT), Ministry of Commerce & Industry, Government of India, has launched the FLOW (Facilitating Logistics, Overseas Warehousing & Fulfillment.) initiative to strengthen India's export ecosystem through the development of overseas warehousing and fulfilment infrastructure.

In line with this initiative, CHEMEXCIL is evaluating the establishment of a Shared Global Warehousing Network for Indian chemical exporters. The objective is to create common overseas warehousing and fulfilment facilities in key international markets, enabling exporters to serve customers faster, reduce logistics costs, improve supply chain efficiency, and enhance their competitiveness in global markets.

Initiative: CHEMEXCIL FLOW – Shared Global Warehousing Network

FLOW is a strategic overseas warehousing and fulfilment network designed to help Indian chemical exporters serve international customers faster, more reliably, and more competitively.

Through shared inventory hubs in major global chemical markets, participating exporters will be able to position stock closer to customers, significantly reduce delivery lead times, improve order fulfilment capabilities, and enhance customer service levels. The initiative is expected to support exporters in securing larger contracts, expanding market reach, and strengthening relationships with overseas distributors and buyers.

By enabling a transition from the traditional "Ship-from-India" model to a "Ship-from-Market" approach, FLOW seeks to strengthen India's position in global chemical supply chains and accelerate export growth.

Key Benefits for Exporters

• Faster delivery to international customers through local inventory availability.
• Reduced logistics and shipping costs through consolidated exports.
• Improved customer confidence and enhanced after-sales service.
• Better access to new export markets, distributors, and buyers.
• Enhanced competitiveness against global suppliers.
• Lower inventory management costs and improved supply chain efficiency.
• Greater support for MSME exporters who may not have the resources to establish independent overseas warehouses.
• Increased opportunities to secure larger and recurring export orders.

To ensure that CHEMEXCIL's proposal accurately reflects industry requirements and market priorities, we invite all interested member exporters to participate in a short survey and share their overseas warehousing and fulfilment requirements.

The survey will take approximately 5–7 minutes to complete. All responses will be treated as strictly confidential and will be used solely for planning and policy formulation purposes.
