To Seek Inputs on Sri Lanka’s Negative List Under ISLFTA- Regarding

Greetings from Chemexcil!


Chemexcil is in receipt of communication from Department of Commerce informing the negative list of HS CODES of Sri Lanka under ISLFTA.


The India and Sri Lanka has re-launched negotiations on Economic and Technology Cooperation Agreement (ETCA).
India already has a FTA with Sri Lanka i.e. ISLFTA. In this regard, the Ministry of MSME has received a list of 7 HS codes of Chemicals which are falling  under CHEMEXCIL’s purview.


The List is tabulated below..

As per data, India’s export to Sri Lanka is found to be negligible for these products. Additionaly, Sri Lanka’s Import for these products from other countries was also discovered as negligible.


Therefore, Members are requested to provide INPUTS/information w.r.t whether the products must remain in negative list (Not covered by the FTA means that these chemicals will be subject to tariffs). or not ? with reasons to pw@chemexcil.in with copy at ad.del@chemexcil.in   on or before 2nd December 2023 for onward submission.
