Dear Sir/Madam
Council is in receipt of representation from the Department of Commerce (DOC) informing that DOC is in receipt of a request from one of the Agrochemical manufacturer seeking the views on following
The said company is having strong manufacturing base in SEZ (Special Economic Zone) and have invested huge investment in manufacturing and are facing extensive challenge of survival because of uncompetitive cost.
They informed that
1. The company is having lower sale in International Market due to stringent regulatory barriers and COVID 19 pandemic.
2. High cost of finished goods in DTA because of high custom duty due to unfavorable duty calculation while transferring goods from SEZ to DTA
As per their representation the company has requested to allow sales of Agrochemicals from SEZ to DTA without payment of custom duty for the financial year (On account of COVID 19) and thereafter charge duty amount equivalent to the duty amount forgone on the imported raw material/packing material and other duties used in manufacture of finished goods.
In view of above we request members to send their views on pwdd@chemexcil.gov.in; deepak.gupta@chemexcil.gov.in by 10th February-2021 by 2.00noon.
Thanks and Regards
Prafulla Walhe
