Urgent inputs required for Anti-Dumping Investigation of Meta Phenoxy Benzaldehyde

 

(MPBD) HS Code 29122990
 

Dear Sir/Madam

 

As you might have aware that, an anti-dumping investigation has been initiated by China against Indian exports of Meta Phenoxy Benzaldehyde (MPBD).

 

This versatile product is widely used in the manufacturing of synthetic pyrethroids in the agrochemical industry, as well as in the food, dyes, cosmetics, and perfume industries.

 

Indian agrochemical companies that export MPBD to China have received notices of the initiation of this anti-dumping process (Copy enclosed).

 

Currently, anti-dumping duties imposed on Indian companies ranges from 36% to 57%, with the validity period extending from 2018 to June 2023. Based on the attached notices, it is likely that these anti-dumping duties will be extended for another 5-years.

 

In view of this it is decided to take up this matter with the relevant government authorities in India and in China to address this issue effectively.

 

To support this representation, we request your company's assistance in providing information regarding Meta Phenoxy Benzaldehyde (MPBD) (HS Code 29122990) w.r.t. to following points.

 

  1. 1.     Total Exports of MPBS from Last 5-years in Value and Volume terms (Volume in MT/ Value in USD terms)

  2. 2.     Name of Exporting Countries with exports of MPBD in Value and Volume term

  3. 3.     Production Capacity: MT/p.a. (You can check the same on State Pollution Control Certificate of your company)

  4. 4.     Utilisation capacity MT/p.a.
