Dear Members,

 

We have received communication  from the Department of Commerce (NAFTA Division)   that  Embassy of India, Washington  has intimated  that the share of Indian exports of the product, ‘heterocyclic aromatic or modified aromatic pesticides with nitrogen hetero-atom(s) only’ (HTS No. 2933.99.22), is approaching 50% of all US imports of said product  (copy of letter attached).

 

Consequently, exports  of above said product from India may lose duty-free treatment by virtue of a Competitive Need Limitation (CNL) that may be imposed on us.

 

Kindly note that  interested members need to file a petition with the US Trade Representative requesting a waiver of CNL for GSP.   The deadline for such a petition is 2 December 2016 (1700 Hours ET).  All the submissions shall be in English and must be submitted electronically via http://www.regulations.gov.  For further information on submission you may  write to GSP@ustr.eop.gov .

 

Interested members are requested to  take note of the same and arrange to do the needful, under intimation to the council (Deepak.gupta@chemexcil.gov.in)
