Details of issues faced  due to Risky Exporters  Alert

Dear Members,

As you might be aware, Central Board of Indirect Taxes & Customs (CBIC)  had issued circular no. 16/2019- Customs dated 17/06/2019   whereby certain exporters where flagged of as  risky exporters.    This led to 100% examination and also hold up of GST refunds.  Subsequently,  CBIC had also issued  Circular No.22/2019-Customs Dt. 24.07.2019 assuring   relaxation  in scrutiny subject to feedback received from field formations with regard to the 100% examination conducted on exports of risk based identified entities.

In this regard,  council had received few representations from members and such cases were highlighted by us to RMCC  (CBIC)  and DoC for relief.

Please note  the Hon’ble CIM had  convened a meeting with Export Promotion Councils/ Trade bodies  on Review of Foreign Trade Policy and the performance of EPCs on 19th December, 2019 at Udyog Bhawan, New Delhi.

During this meeting also, the issue of risky exporters was raised by the trade bodies and they  have been advised to revert with   updated information within 10 days  covering following points:

IEC No.

Name of the Company & Address

Contact person with Designation

Mobile No

Date when they were informed about classification as Risky Exporters
