Inputs for CEPA Utilization with Korea and Japan

Dear Sir/Madam,

CHEMEXCIL is in receipt of communication from the Department on above subject.

There is an upcoming meeting that the FT (NEA) Division of the Department of Commerce has conducted a comprehensive analysis of the preferential export data received from Korea and Japan customs under the India-Korea CEPA and India-Japan CEPA, respectively. Our findings indicate that there are 269 tariff lines for Korea RP and 375 tariff lines for Japan where India's exports exceed USD 1 million, yet the utilization rate under the respective CEPAs is below 80%. For your reference, the detailed analysis is attached.

In view of above member are requested to share their inputs with regards to Indian Chemical Trade with Japan and Korea.

  • Tariff Issues

  • Non-Tariff Barriers

  • PSRs

  • Regulatory issues

  • Trade Facilitation: (Simplification of Customs Procedures, Harmonization of Standards, etc.)

Kindly share the same on robengaluru@chemexcil.in on or before 20th June 2024.

Thanks and Regards

Raghuveer Kini
