India’s Q1 GDP Growth at 7.8% Positive Outlook for Trade & Exports

 

Dear Members,

We are pleased to inform you that, as per the

Press Information Bureau (PIB) release by Department, dated 29th August 2025 the Indian economy has recorded a robust GDP growth of 7.8% during the first quarter (April–June) of FY 2025-26, compared to 6.5% in the same period last year. (Copy enclosed) 

This strong performance, led by prospering growth in the services sector and steady expansion in manufacturing, construction, and agriculture which reflects India’s resilient economic fundamentals and offers an encouraging outlook for the chemical export sector.

The Key Highlights of Q1 FY 2025-26 are as under 

  • Real GDP Growth: 7.8% (₹47.89 lakh crore)

  • Nominal GDP Growth: 8.8% (₹86.05 lakh crore)

  • Services Sector Growth: 9.3%

  • Manufacturing Growth: 7.7%

  • Construction Growth:7.6%

  • Agriculture & Allied Sectors: 3.7% (up from 1.5% last year)

  • Government Final Consumption Expenditure (GFCE): 9.7% growth

These developments indicate improving domestic demand, stronger investment activity, and an overall positive economic climate.

With consistent economic growth, the outlook for Indian exports, including the chemicals sector remains promising.
