Dear Member,

South Korea has established one of Asia's most comprehensive chemical regulatory frameworks through the Act on Registration and Evaluation of Chemicals (K-REACH) and the Chemicals Control Act (K-CCA). These regulations govern the registration, evaluation, manufacture, import, distribution and safe management of chemical substances to protect human health and the environment while ensuring the safe use of chemicals throughout their lifecycle.

K-REACH requires manufacturers and importers to register chemical substances, share hazard information, and comply with ongoing reporting and risk management obligations. Complementing this, K-CCA regulates the handling, storage, transport, import, and management of hazardous chemicals, including business licensing, accident prevention, and emergency response requirements.
