Dear Member,

The Department of Chemicals & Petrochemicals, Ministry of Chemicals & Fertilizers, Government of India, has sought information regarding the domestic capacity, production, demand and related aspects of Bismuth Oxide, Bismuth Citrate and other value-added Bismuth chemicals in connection with a representation seeking BCD exemption on Bismuth Oxide and restoration of BCD on Bismuth Citrate from Nil to 7.5%.

In this regard, members dealing in the aforesaid products are requested to provide the following information:

· India’s domestic capacity, production and demand of Bismuth Oxide during the last three financial years (2023-24 to 2025-26).

· India’s domestic capacity, production and demand of Bismuth Citrate during the last three financial years (2023-24 to 2025-26).

· India’s domestic capacity, production and demand of other value added products of Bismuth such as Bismuth Nitrate, Bismuth subnitrate, Bismuth subsalicylate etc.

· Percentage of Bismuth Oxide used in the final product and its input cost share in the final product.

· Impact of reducing BCD on Bismuth Oxide on other relevant sectors.

· Name of the domestic producers and their domestic capacity for the aforesaid chemicals.

Members are requested to email the requisite information to ed@chemexcil.in with a copy to amrita@chemexcil.in and ad.del@chemexcil.in by 20.08.2026 for further consolidation and submission to the Department of Chemicals & Petrochemicals.
