Greetings from CHEMEXCIL.
The Department of Commerce, Government of India, has informed that the Second Session of the India–Mauritius High Powered Joint Trade Committee (HPJTC) under the India–Mauritius Comprehensive Economic Cooperation and Partnership Agreement (CECPA) is scheduled to be held from 7th to 9th October 2026 in New Delhi, under the Co-Chairmanship of Shri Amit Kumar, Joint Secretary, Department of Commerce.
In preparation for the forthcoming HPJTC meeting, the Department of Commerce is convening an Inter-Ministerial Consultation (IMC) on 24th September 2026 (Thursday), to discuss and finalize the agenda for the meeting.
The tentative agenda for the Second Session includes, inter alia:

-
Trade-related impediments and possible solutions;
-
Review of decisions taken during the First Session of the HPJTC, including:
-

-
Amended MoU between the Mauritius Standards Bureau (MSB) and the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS);
-

In this regard, CHEMEXCIL invites its members to kindly share any specific trade-related issues, market access concerns, procedural difficulties, or suggestions pertaining to trade with Mauritius, which may merit consideration during the forthcoming HPJTC discussions.
