Invitation for Inputs on Trade Issues in the UK Market for
India–UK JETCO Meeting – Reg
|
Dear Member,
The Department of Commerce, Ministry of Commerce & Industry, Government of India, is scheduling the India–UK Joint Economic and Trade Committee (JETCO) meeting in early October 2026.
The meeting provides an important platform for raising specific trade-related issues, regulatory concerns, market access challenges and other matters affecting bilateral trade and economic cooperation, particularly in the context of the implementation of the India–UK Comprehensive Economic and Trade Agreement (CETA).
In this regard, members are requested to share any specific issues or difficulties being faced in the UK market, including, but not limited to:

Market access and regulatory barriers;

Customs, tariff or Rules of Origin-related issues;
-
Standards, certification, labelling or compliance requirements;
-
Sanitary, environmental or other regulatory requirements, wherever applicable;
-
Non-Tariff Barriers (NTBs) affecting exports;
-
Any post Implementation-related issues under the India–UK CETA; and
-
Any other specific concerns impacting exports of chemicals, dyes, cosmetics and allied products to the UK.
Members are requested to provide specific and evidence-based inputs, preferably along with the relevant HS Code, product description, nature of the issue, details of the UK requirement/regulation and its impact on exports, wherever available.
The inputs received will be examined and consolidated for consideration under the India–UK JETCO framework.
The inputs are required on an URGENT basis and must reach CHEMEXCIL latest by 30th September 2026 (Wednesday), to enable timely consolidation and submission to the concerned Division.
Members are requested to treat this matter as MOST URGENT and submit their inputs at the earliest.
