Dear Member,

This is to inform that we are in receipt of a communication from EP(CAP) Division, Department of Commerce, Ministry of Commerce & Industry seeking inputs/ comments of downstream industry on the representation of ongoing Anti-Dumping Investigation on Melamine.

There is an ongoing anti-dumping investigation on imports of Melamine originating in or exported from China PR which has raised concerns that imposing anti-dumping duty could significantly increase input costs for downstream plywood and wood-based panel manufacturers, particularly MSMEs, given the dependence on imported Melamine and constraints in domestic supply. Issues relating to the assessment of price undercutting, demand–supply conditions, injury and causation, disclosure of essential facts and the broader downstream industry impact.

Members are requested to kindly share their concerns and relevant suggestions on the matter latest by 5:00 PM, 30^th September 2026 to soumya@chemexcil.in and amrita@chemexcil.in with a copy to ed@chemexcil.in in order to enable us to consolidate and take up the matter appropriately.
