Dear Member,

The Department of Chemicals and Petrochemicals (DCPC) has informed that Canada has sought full tariff liberalisation by India for HS Code 291819 (Carboxylic Acid) under the India–Canada CEPA negotiations.

Members dealing in products covered under this HS code are requested to share their views on the proposed tariff elimination, particularly any concerns regarding its impact, along with supporting justification and relevant data.

Please send your inputs to amrita@chemexcil.in and ed@chemexcil.in by today, 4 November 2026, for submission to the Department.

DCPC has indicated that, if no inputs are received, it will be understood that there are no concerns regarding tariff elimination.
