A large numbers of refund claims (other than SAD refund) are pending in JNCH due to non-availability of files, non-receipt of reply to DCM (Deficiency Memo) from the applicants and due to submission of claim letter/documents in the sections/units of JNCH other than CRC (Central Refund Cell) etc. Representations are regularly received in respect of long pending claims.

To address the problem, a Special Drive for old pending refund claims is being initiated.

All concerned are requested to bring to the notice of JNCH, details of refund claims, which have been filed on or before June’2014 and are pending as on 01-12-2014 for processing i.e. Order-in-Original not issued. The letter with the details should be addressed to Shri Rajesh Kumar Agarwal, Joint Commissioner, JNCH. JNCH will make all efforts to dispose off such claims within three months of receipt of the complete details.

In respect of refund claims which have been sanctioned i.e. Order-in-Original issued before 15-11-2014 but payment/RTGS has not been received as on 01-12-2014, the reference should be made to DR. AshirTyagi, Addl. Commissioner (Gen), O/o-Commissioner of Customs (General), JNCH, who will take necessary action in the matter.

The Special Drive will commence on 01.12.2014 and continue till 31.03.2015.
